Overfishing and illegal fishing threaten Cebu's marine biodiversity and the livelihoods of small-scale fisherfolk. When small-scale fishers compete in already exhausted waters, they face an impossible choice: go home empty-handed or resort to unsustainable methods just to survive. Observing SDG # 14: Life Below Water and in partnership with Cebu City Government, Bash Studio's advocacy campaign isn't just about marine conservation and protection, it's also about livelihood and survival for these fisherfolks living in the margins of poverty. We aim to shift mindsets and empower fisherfolk in Cebu City's coastal barangays with real, practical alternatives to overfishing and illegal fishing. Because sustainable fishing isn't just about protecting marine life; it's about securing the future of those who depend on it.
