Long established as a cultural and agricultural town in Argao, the area has long been known for its heritage crafts, local food traditions, and quiet rural rhythm. Yet for many locals and travelers passing through Southern Cebu, opportunities for modern work, lifestyle, and community experiences remained fragmented—often requiring people to leave town to access them.

Looking toward the future, Our Gao was envisioned as a new kind of district—one that could introduce progress without disrupting what already exists. Instead of replacing Argao’s identity, it builds on it: creating a space where culture, livelihood, and everyday life continue to thrive alongside new opportunities.

How might we create a district that brings modern opportunities closer to home—without losing what makes Argao, Argao?

A Life, Naturally Closer.

Our Gao is imagined as Argao’s gateway to progress—a community-first district where modern living, culture, and nature coexist in one integrated space. Rather than positioning itself as a commercial center alone, it becomes a growth pole: a place where locals, families, and travelers can live, work, and connect without needing to leave the town behind.

The strategy centers on a simple but critical tension: progress vs. preservation.
Our Gao resolves this by reframing progress—not as disruption, but as something that feels like home.

Logo

The Our Gao identity draws from the idea of growth rooted in place. The primary symbol is built around an “O” core, surrounded by four G-shaped leaves—forming a unified mark that subtly reads as “OG.”

This structure reflects both origin and growth: a center that expands outward, much like the district itself.

The organic leaf forms reference Argao’s agricultural roots, while the circular composition suggests continuity, community, and connection. The result is a mark that feels both grounded and forward-moving—never purely urban, never purely rural.

Gateway to Progress

Rather than positioning itself as a destination alone, Our Gao is framed as a gateway—a threshold between what Argao has always been and what it can become.

This idea informs the entire brand system:
a balance between heritage and modernity, local life and new opportunity, stillness and movement.

The language stays warm and familiar, like a neighbor speaking—not a developer selling. It invites people in rather than imposing change.

Color

The color palette is drawn directly from Argao’s environment and culture:

  • Argaw Green reflects agriculture, land, and growth

  • Heritage Clay echoes local crafts and built history

  • Sunlit Torta references warmth, food, and everyday life

  • Coastal Deep Blue connects to the surrounding landscape

  • Kabalay Cream softens the system with warmth and familiarity

Rather than feeling corporate or imported, the palette grounds the brand in something instantly recognizable and local.

Graphic Elements & System

Our Gao’s visual system extends from its core symbol.

Patterns are derived from the logomark’s organic forms, creating a flexible set of elements that can frame content, guide layouts, and add rhythm across applications. These elements act as connective tissue, visually representing how spaces, people, and experiences intersect within the district.

Illustrations and pictograms follow the same philosophy:
simple, approachable, and functional—balancing clarity with personality.

A Community-First District

At its core, Our Gao is a framework for living.

Every touchpoint, from wayfinding to social content, reinforces three key ideas:

  • Welcoming – a place that feels like home

  • Grounded – rooted in Argao’s culture and everyday life

  • Forward-looking – opening new opportunities without forcing people to leave

This ensures the brand look cohesive and it behaves consistently across spaces, stories, and experiences.

Outcome

Our Gao emerges as more than a development. It becomes a shared space for progress—one that supports local livelihoods, celebrates culture, and creates new possibilities within reach.

A district where growth doesn’t mean leaving.
A place where everything—life, work, and community—feels naturally closer.
